MindChamps PreSchool Limited – From The Eyes of News Media
Continued from the earlier post – MindChamps PreSchool IPO – The Largest Operator and Franchisor of Premium Range PreSchool Centres In Singapore
The self introduction of MindChamps PreSchool Limited
To recap the key points in earlier post using layman’s terms….
MindChamps PreSchool:
- “We are ‘The Largest Operator and Franchisor of Premium Range PreSchool Centres In Singapore” because Converging Knowledge, who is a Independent Market Research Consultant, said so.
Converging Knowledge:
- On Premium: “We use $1700/month as benchmark. Irregardless of the actual amount charged eventually, as long as the PreSchool Centres declare charging each student S$1,700 or more (before applying any discounts) per month, they are ‘Premium PreSchool Centres’.”
- On The Largest (market share): “We count the number of PreSchool Centre Outlets (and not sales of the centres). Since MindChamps has 35 centres operating currently out of 91 PreSchool Centre Outlets who charge more than $1700 according to the data we gathered, and 35 ÷ 91 = 38.5%, MindChamps has market share of 38.5%, and hence the largest.”
How our news media describes MindChamps PreSchool Limited –
The Business Times
Implicitly acknowledged MindChamps Preschool as “Singapore’s largest provider of premium preschools by market share”.
In the subsequent paragraph, it included the 1 centre undergoing renovation work to the contribution of market share by mentioning “In Singapore, it has 36 centres, giving it a 38.5 per cent share of premium-range preschools.”

The Straits Times:
Similar implicit acknowledgement as The Business Times – MindChamps Preschool, “Singapore’s biggest provider of premium pre-schools by market share”.
In the subsequent paragraph, it mentioned “In Singapore, MindChamps has a 38.5 per cent share of premium-range pre-schools… “, without mentioning ’36’.

TodayOnline:
Implicitly acknowledged “MindChamps – the largest pre-school operator in the Republic by market share.”...
… but labelled the “premium” as citation in the subsequent paragraph – “Last month, MindChamps, which provides “premium academic and enrichment programmes”, signed agreements with investment firms….”

TheEdgeSingapore
Opposite to TodayOnline, TheEdge implicitly acknowledging “premium-range preschool centres in Singapore”…
… but drop the point on “largest market share”.

The Motley Fool:
Don’t ask. You SHOULD KNOW that it is “Singapore’s largest operator and franchisor of premium preschool centres….”

Sharesinv.com
Lifting it even beyond the level of “premium range”! It is already “Singapore’s largest preschool operator” !!! 🤭

DealStreetAsia:
“MindChamps PreSchool Limited, which claims to be the largest.. “ ✅✅

ChannelNewsAsia:
MindChamps is “Local operator and franchisor of pre-school centres”.
In the subsequent paragraph, it mentioned the company “is said to be the largest…..” and cited the research report and the definition accordingly. ✅ ✅ ✅

MindChamps – The Champions’ Mind
A screen grab from MindChamps website (https://www.mindchamps.org/)

SGX Observer tried but couldn’t find any information on which / where /when /what is the vote that MindChamps was given the title of ‘No. 1 Choice By Singapore Parents For 3 Years Consecutively.”
SGX Observer simply do not have the mind of champion maybe.
Biggest or not doesn’t really matter. What matter is how much value it can bring to its investors.
Yup. Therefore the claim of having the biggest market share by counting no. of outlets is unnecessary.
Furthermore, the following statement in the same Independent Report is selectively neglected
– “In the enrichment segment, MindChamps has eight centres offering English literacy programmes. Based on the number of outlets, MindChamps has market share of 8.0% to 9.0%.”
The enrichment segment is part of MindChamps PreSchool Limited?
Not sure.
I find the segregation between MindChamps Holdings and MindChamps PreSchool confusing. It could be just me.
Note that the majority of the ‘MindChamps’ trademarks listed in the prospectus are registered under MindChamps Holdings. Only few are under MindChamps PreSchool Limited.
