Frasers Centrepoint Trust acquired one-third stake in Waterway Point (??)
Frasers Centrepoint Asset Management Ltd (Manager of Frasers Centrepoint Trust) this morning issued a clarification note regarding ‘a website posting’ at SGX StockFacts portal title “Frasers Centrepoint Trust (SGX:J69U) acquired one-third stake in Waterway Point from Frasers Centrepoint Limited (SGX:TQ5)” (link)
The Manager wishes to clarify that the Posting did not originate from the Manager and the information in the posting is untrue. SGX has been informed.
So… not everything shown at SGX StockFacts is stock facts. 😓
SGX has taken away the link to StockFacts this morning and at the current moment, the service is not yet resumed.
Stock Facts Must Comes With A Price?
SGX Observer was once puzzled on why SGX has to engage a third-party information provider to setup the ‘StockFacts’ portal, and not maintaining the portal on its own, since SGX should have all the relevant information (and facts) of all the listing companies.
SGX Observer later realised that StockFacts intended to offer a ‘StockFacts premium’ paid subscription service which doesn’t come free. (Somehow, the plan didn’t go well as planned?) SGX Observer did try out the ‘premium service’ during the trial period when it was first introduced (1 month free trial, then subsequently the trial period was extended for another few months, then extended again and it is still free now!)….
Anyway, in SGX Observer’s humble opinion, it is not wise for SGX to offer such a chargeable service, especially when such service is parked under the official website of Singapore Exchange.
SGX Observer would expect less intelligent (and therefore less bias) and more up-to-date raw data of the listing companies to be make available to public in a organised format.
