Coincidentally, out of the 3 most recent queries, 2 of the queries were issued when the price shock happened less than 1 week before Venture releases its quarter earning.
The price surge on 13 Sep 2017 apparently triggered by Venture’s CEO announcement on spending more than S$6 million buying 400,000 shares from open market the day before.
SGX Observer is just curious on under what circumstances the listed companies are supposed to issue profit guidance, since Venture has been ‘low profile’ on this aspect, except for the 2 occurrences of ‘hint’ given by the CEO via the announcements on his transactions of buying 400,000 shares and 166,300 shares with S$6 million and S$2 million from open market on 13 Sep 2017 and 14 Jul 2017 respectively. ✌ 😶
and… does it mean that the share price movement is ‘usual’ when SGX didn’t query? 🤔🤨
AEM’s 1Q18 results
By the way, AEM just released its 1Q18 financial reports an hour ago (link) –
- AEM’s 1Q2018 net profit doubles to S$8.2 million year-on-year on strong sales and higher profit margins
- 1Q2018 revenue increases 55.9% to S$65.7 million on growing sales orders for its test handlers and pans/kits from its major customer
- Net profit margin improved from 9.8% in 1Q2017 to 12.5% in 1Q2018 on cost reduction initiatives and cost efficiency
- Reiterate guidance for FY2018 of at least S$255 million sales and S$42 million profit before tax
Prior to this, AEM has actually issued profit guidance on 5 Apr 2018 (link).
(Probably meant to offset the announcement of its director cash in about S$868,000 via disposal of 120,000 shares via open market on 28-Mar-2018.) 🧐
Venture’s 1Q18 results
…. will be released tomorrow. 🔭
